Hailing from Japan but looking a bit on the Australian side instead is this oh-so-cute pin, crafted of celluloid and hand painted in hues reminiscent of a Rosebreasted (Galah) Cockatoo. Birdie is 1.75” of ‘Too charm and detail – even her feet are well defined. She was likely made in the 1930’s or 40’s and has a simple clasp on the back (not sure what to call this type of clasp, see pic). She’s in good condition with just a slight bend in the pin bar. Marked “Japan” on her clasp as proof of her origins. As you can see she’s also friendly, having made friends with a pair of postcard Parrots (Leadbeater Cockatoos) available at: www.antiquebeak.com.
