A decidedly different necklace of the porcelain and wood persuasion, which should be filed under the category of “Tropical Treasure”. Although one necklace it is a strand of five, each with a porcelain plaque that is reminiscent of a shell dangling from it. Four of the strands have Parrots (two Macaws, two Cockatoos) hand painted on them, while the fifth sports stylized palm fronds. All of the beads are wood in lines of yellow, turquoise, red, blue and cobalt and are strung on string with a simple hook clasp. Measures 18” when fully extended and 11” long when doubled up (includes clasp and Parrot fob). There is a tiny chip on the top of one pendant (see pic) otherwise the necklace is in good condition. Marked “Hand Made porcelain by Carol Halmy” via a foil label on the back. Tis a fun piece for frolicking in the sun, exotic cruises, art festivals (or even inducing jealousy at Parrot club meetings!) The necklace is shown hanging out with a Fitz and Floyd Parrot planter, available at: www.antiquebeak.com, item #ab6072.
